Comic Sans at a yard sale

I went to some yard sales on Saturday.

One of them featured several stacks of clothing. And signs in Comic Sans.

At first glance, this picture almost makes it look like a good typographic choice, because the sign is selling clothing for children.

But of course, the signs on the adult clothing and the teenage clothing were also in Comic Sans.

The problem here isn't a lack of care about typography, because if that was it, whoever made this sign would have just used Cambria or Calibri or whatever the default font is.

They INTENTIONALLY chose Comic Sans, presumably because they LIKE it.

This hurts.

  1. Um, on my mom's computer in Word (I don't know what version) the default IS Comic Sans. I can't figure out why or how that happened, but that might explain some of these occurrences.
